It was foggy in the morning, but nevertheless we headed straight for the town of Engelberg right after breakfast. The morning drive from our hotel at Malters towards Engelberg was depressing. Visibility was poor in thick mist. However once we headed south and climbed in altitude, we saw clear skies and as we rose above the foggy valley below. Unfortunately, the light drizzle in the thick fog last night, no snow fall was in sight. After 40 mins of driving we reached Engelberg. The mountains were clear with patches of frost at the caps. But the town of Engelberg looked clear of snow except for some thin frost on the shaded side of the valley. After parking in the town, we walked towards the Titlis Rotair Bahn. The cable car ride up to Titlis was under pre winter maintenance so there was no way up to Titlis. Fortunately, we managed to find some frost to play with along the lowest ski slopes. We were also lucky that they had tested the snow making machines and there was a thick patch of snow, just enough for Marcus to experience his first taste of snow. monastery in Engelberg Karpelbruke Lion monument Glacier Garden Hall of mirrors Mcdonalds
